Dauin, Negros Oriental

After our impromptu trip to Siquijor in 2012, Ling and I were then off to Dauin---known for its amazing reef system and just 15 kilometers south of Dumaguete. In fact, the island is teeming with 21 dive sites. It was our last stopover in our 5-day-long trip to Negros Oriental.

We checked into El Dorado Beach Resort. Standard room rate for 2 pax is $55 or P2,500 inclusive of breakfast. Quite affordable compared to other resorts in the area. As for the resort's dive rates, $69 or P3,100/dive was very expensive. So we opted to dive with Mike's Beach Resort, which was just walking distance away. The cost of 3 dives/day is P5,000. Full gear equipment rental/day is P500. More so, their experienced Filipino dive masters are very approachable and accommodating.

Did 3 dives and saw tons of critters in Dauin's artificial reefs. Muck diving at its finest! Also enjoyed lounging around the resort during surface intervals. The beachfront view and the pool were simply stunning. See also Dauin, Negros Oriental: A Macro Surprise, Apo Island, Negros Oriental.
