San Luis, Batangas: 2015 Christmas Party Dive

A week after getting certified as a PADI Rescue Diver in December 2015, Ling and I were back in Seasport Park and Dive Resort in San Luis, Batangas. We were invited for a Christmas party of sorts by the resort’s manager and our PADI/CMAS dive instructor, Allan Lao.

The weekend’s food was sumptuous! The crabmeat exclusively from Sorsogon was the bomb. All thanks to the newest CMAS’ dive professionals, Atty. Abelle and Boboy. A company of people sharing the same interests was just the perfect combination for a simple gathering. The weekend’s highlight? No doubt the 3 dives we did: a night dive in the resort’s house reef, another dive in the house reef the following day and a boat dive to the Pinnacle dive site.

Ling and I were surprised at all the great critters we saw during the night dive. Saw a bobtail squid squirting ink, a uniquely colored octopus and a blue spiny lobster! Those cleaner shrimp and puffer fish swarmed with planktons were just mind-blowing.

Was just quite disappointed that we weren’t able to see the white tip reef shark again during our boat dive. Nonetheless, I enjoyed practicing my wide-angle photography on Pinnacle’s amazing reef...tried a different setting this time. Hope you like it!
