Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte: 2015 Year-End Dive 2

Macro subjects abound in Sogod Bay in Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte. Out of 6 dives, I spent 4 dives shooting macro in December 2015.

Ling and I were so amazed to see pygmy seahorses just in Sogod Bay Scuba Resort’s house reef. Spotted critters left and right in Malitbog’s dive sites. Diving in Malitbog is quite similar to Anilao, Batangas’ Secret Bay---sandy area with macro surprises lurking in every corner. To our surprise, we saw a flamboyant cuttlefish’ egg inside a bottle! Horned blennies that are hard to find in Anilao were also all over the place.

Don’t miss doing a night dive in Padre Burgos pier! Night dives are scheduled every Monday, Wednesday and Friday so make it a point to schedule your trip within these days. A stargazer, eel, bobtail squid, cuttlefish, shrimps and frogfish are just a few of what to expect on a night dive.
