Mt. Talamitam, Batangas
After getting married in November 2010, the second climb Ling and I took as a married couple was in Mt. Talamitam in Nasugbu, Batangas last June 2012. We were with our mountaineering group, Horizon Extreme Adventure Team or HEAT. It was so good to be back on the trail after my wedding and pregnancy hiatus. Life, as they say, happens but it is beyond incomparable to know that I will always have the outdoors to come back to anytime. That assurance keeps the drive of adventure burning not just for me but also for my husband, Ling, who shares the same interest and passion. #relationshipgoals
The level of difficulty of climbing Mt. Talamitam is 3 out of 9 and it is considered a minor climb. The mountain's name is a reminder of the talamitam trees that used to be seen in its terrain. A past once lush before the mountain turned completely bald. After registering in Barangay Aga, it took us 2-3 hours to reach the summit. What I vividly remember from our climb was the exhaustion we experienced due to too much heat. There weren't any trees for cover in the trail. Before starting our descent, the scorching sun urged us to power nap and rest. Some of us used our ponchos for cover.
Travel tip: Bring loads of water and effective protection from the sun like cap and poncho, ideal for short trail breaks.

Certified as a PADI rescue diver. Got my first compact camera in 2011. I was simply content then to just capture a glimpse of what I see during my dives. It was only last February 2014 that I fully maximized the use of manual macro settings.
