Our trip to Pico De Loro in Nasugbu, Batangas’ Hamilo Coast has finally pushed through in mid-July 2021. Our prior Holy Week booking has been cancelled due to heightened COVID-19 restrictions in the NCR plus bubble. But the wait has been so worth it as our photos couldn’t do justice of the amazing time we had in Ashley’s Hideaway booked via Airbnb.
The condo unit is good for 5 pax costing P6,000 per night. The kitchen is fully equipped so we just prepped and cooked our own meals courtesy of the hubby. Guest access to resort facilities like the beach and pool area, however, is paid separately upon arrival at P1500 per adult and P800 per child. Weekday check-in is slightly cheaper at P1200 per adult and P600 per child but note that they also honor senior citizen discounts. As part of its COVID-19 safety protocol, the resort requires RT-PCR tests for guests 17 years old and below and for those aged 66 years old and above. Guests are also asked to fill out a health declaration form upon check-in.
All pandemic worries aside, we sure had a blast exploring the resort compound. The kiddo enjoyed crossing the hanging bridge and goin’ around the man-made lagoon. She also loved interacting with the ducks which is why she preferred walking to and from the beach instead of riding the shuttle. And yes, the sandy beach was just as we expected---such a perfect stretch of peace and calm for a weekend breather.
Update as of March 2022: Guests from areas under Alert Level 2 or lower are only required to present their vaccination card OR a negative RT-PCR/antigen test taken within 72 hours from check-in. They also don't require guests below 18yo to present negative test results provided that all adult companions are fully vaccinated.

Certified as a PADI rescue diver. Got my first compact camera in 2011. I was simply content then to just capture a glimpse of what I see during my dives. It was only last February 2014 that I fully maximized the use of manual macro settings.
