As the French expression goes, 'jamais deux sans trois' or literally, never twice without a third time. My third trip to Boracay pushed through in August 2016 together with my husband who was there as a first-timer. Our plan was to just do some diving---to explore Boracay's underwater splendor. After doing 4 dives with New Wave Divers, we spent our time lounging on the heavenly white sand beach. We also had a massage and I had my hair braided up just for a change. ;P What disappointed me on my third trip to the island though was the flooded alleyways that welcomed us on our arrival. Unfortunately, it was raining when we arrived but I didn't expect the drainage system to be as poorly maintained. It was Boracay after all, one of the country's top tourist destinations. We didn't experience rain the following day but the gutter-deep rainwater didn't subside. It was only two days after that it finally receded. Pedicab drivers we rode affirmed Boracay's drainage problem...as a result of commercial establishments setting up in the area without conducting proper drainage planning. The island's beauty is unquestionable but I hope the local and provincial government doesn't overlook problems like these. =(
Looking back, I was with my family and some relatives from America during my first trip to Bora in 2009. The first time was a charm as we stayed in Discovery Shores. Amazingly situated in Station 1, the food, the room and the resort's amenities were beyond grand! Our island hopping tour brought us to Crystal Cove (where we did some cove exploration) and Puka Beach (where we got ourselves henna-tattooed). Also tried helmet diving for the first time. Imagine walking barefoot underwater, 5-meter deep!
Going to Boracay was sweeter the second time around with my Sumasabog na Kalan or SNK friends in 2010. Stayed in Station 2 at Casa Pilar Beach Resort. For the cost of P1,800/pax, did tons of beach activities like helmet diving (again!), banana boat, parasail and ATV (all-terrain vehicle). We also celebrated my friends' Clai and Dee-Aye's birthdays. Had a simple after-dinner party in the resort. Had one too many drinks that I don't remember anything the next day! ;P

Certified as a PADI rescue diver. Got my first compact camera in 2011. I was simply content then to just capture a glimpse of what I see during my dives. It was only last February 2014 that I fully maximized the use of manual macro settings.
My camera skills and knowledge are still a work in progress. Enjoy browsin’!
