Anilao, Batangas: Unforgettable Macro Surprise

Because diving in Anilao, Batangas is always a great idea! Just around 2 hours away from Quezon City, Anilao is no doubt our go-to place especially considering our love for muck diving. And no, I’m not overspeeding!hehe We usually leave Quezon City around 4 am when there’s no traffic in Edsa so as to arrive in Anilao just past 6 am.

A day trip could have been enough. But it has already been our practice to stay overnight and do at least 5-6 dives. No rush. After 3 dives on the 17th of July 2016, it was nice to spend the rest of the day lingering at the beach...watching the sunset. And yes, did some random backbends too!

What Ling and I saw during the day’s 3 dives totally blew us away! Didn’t expect to see a mini sea hare...the same species we saw in Romblon in May 2016. The day’s unforgettable surprise though was when Ling spotted a very unusual batwing sea slug. Not the ordinary kind of Siphopteron quadrispinosum...it is just around 5-6 millimeters, has yellow and white outline and a white-spotted orange back part. Our day’s luck didn’t end as we also saw clownfish eggs twice and two pygmy seahorses.

Learned a lesson the hard way, however, at the end of our first diving day. So disappointed with my CD-R King SD card reader. Imagine losing all the day’s pics in a snap! Took me 3 days before I finally recovered the files again, all thanks to Kuya Ronnie! Enjoy viewing!
