Anilao, Batangas: 2021 Post-Birthday Dive

Celebrated my 36th amid the pandemic last October 27 and I couldn’t be any more thankful for the gift of life and love. I have been looking forward to my post-birthday dives during undas week. It is our third dive trip this 2021 and we’re getting used to the safety protocols implemented by resorts due to COVID 19. Antigen test results and medical certificates are certainly part of local tourism’s new normal.

We booked our 4-day stay with none other than Anilao Boarding House. Its affordable beachfront view room costing P2,000, good for two pax, is simply incomparable. I also invited my original dive buddy, Gemmie, as she is back in the country from her overseas work. It was indeed a reunion of sorts after our last dive together in Mactan, Cebu way back 2018.

We did four shore dives and scheduled two boat dives with the Tabangay brothers, Justin and Mac. And as expected, I had the best time unwrapping underwater presents one after the other. Nudibranchs abound---big and small. I especially liked the yellow nudi that looked like a yellow ribbon underwater and the white thorny nudi similar to a flabellina. We also saw hello kitty nudibranchs twogether. Enjoy viewing!
