Glad to have been to Laiya in San Juan, Batangas in 2012 because of work. My love for diving always brings me to the opposite side of the province, which is Anilao.

Our topic then for Bawal ang Pasaway kay Mareng Winnie, a show hosted by Winnie Monsod in GMA News TV Channel 11, was about Philippine tourism. Quite surprised with how fine the sand is in Laiya's shoreline considering it is just 2-3 hours away from the metro. This place is no doubt perfect for quick weekend escapes from busy city life.

I spent several Holy Week and random family vacations in the area. We were able to stay in Lola Beach Resort and availed their cottage with an air-conditioned room, bathroom and own kitchen worth P8,000 per day. The room can fit around 8 pax as it has a double deck and twin bed. My daughter totally enjoyed swimming and playing in the beach. I also had her hair braided and got her henna tattooed when we went for a walk along Laiya's sandy coast. Minus the videoke rental of the resort, our stay has been considerably relaxing.

We went for an upgrade for our fambam's 2018 year-ender trip. We booked Kabayan Beach Resort's Casa Blanca cottage at the rate of P15,000, good for 10 pax. Cottages in the resort have their respective porch, dining, kitchen and own bathroom. Aside from the amazing beach front view, there is also a swimming pool where kiddos and kids-at-heart can dip up until night time. My daughter naturally took cousin bonding a notch higher by alternating dippin' in the beach, playing in the sand and swimming in the pool to their heart's delight.

Kabayan Beach Resort also accepts day tour with entrance rates at P150 per adult and P75 for 11 years old and below. Nipa huts for day trip rental ranges from P2,000-P3,000. See also Laiya, Batangas 2 for other resort options.
