It was technically our family of three's first out of town trip ever since the lockdown started in the Philippines last March 2020. As parents, we have been careful not to expose our 9-year-old daughter outside of our homes in Quezon City and San Pedro, Laguna. Aside from our Christmas celebration spent in Laguna, our kiddo has stayed in our house in the metro and has spent her time indoors busy with online learning and other worthwhile activities. But if the lockdown has somewhat been unbearable for adults, I can just imagine how it can also affect children’s mental health. And so, my husband and I planned a weekend getaway with Xandy---a two-day vacay for a much-needed rest and relaxation for our fambam.
We checked into The Park in Silang, Cavite and enjoyed the premium room with its own jacuzzi and overlooking view. An overnight stay costs P6,710.00, inclusive of breakfast for two pax. Aside from the room’s jacuzzi, guests can also enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools along with the watsu or heated pool. We dipped in one of the outdoor pools and had it all to ourselves. Xandy’s giddy laughter while swimming all day made us realize how the outdoors can easily uplift the mind and spirit. Simply lounging in the jacuzzi while basking in the sunset and sunrise view made our hearts happy. For our dinner, we dined in the resort's restaurant. It is situated in the second floor open balcony so we had a very relaxing meal while enjoying the cool January climate.
As Cavite is already under modified general community quarantine or MGCQ, travel requirements have long been eased by the provincial government. Road trips has also been made even easier and more convenient through the newly-opened Cavite-Laguna Expressway or CALAX. This trip is a reminder that in spite of the pandemic, we can always take a breather and at the same time still be mindful of COVID-19 protocols for each and everyone’s safety.
Note: RT-PCR/antigen tests and medical certificates aren't required but guests are asked to submit a health declaration form before check-in. There was no needed travel pass too as we didn't see any checkpoints along the way.
