Who said we couldn’t extend summer ‘til August? After seeing pictures of a friend in Talisayen Cove in Zambales, there was no question it would be Sumasabog na Kalan or SNK’s next destination in 2015. We were six in the group---my cousin, Kristel, also tagged along.
We didn’t hire a van as riding public transport is cheaper for 6 pax. We met up at Victory Liner in Cubao one hour before the 7 am first trip bound for Iba, Zambales via SCTEX. Victory Liner doesn’t accept reservation and only sells tickets one hour before the trip. So make sure to line up at the cashier as soon as you arrive as passengers bound for Iba are usually packed. Bus tickets are sold out in no time.
We bought our bus tickets alright but our friend, Gemmie, didn’t arrive up until the last call for passengers. Talk about buzzer-beater arrival! Whew!
Travel time via SCTEX took 4 hours. Arrived at San Antonio, Zambales around 11 am. We then rode a tricycle going to Pundaquit where an outrigger was waiting for us. After a 45-minute boat ride, we finally arrived in Talisayen Cove. And it was simply breathtaking! The long stretch of cream-colored sand, backdrop of agoho trees and the Pundaquit mountain range were all postcard-perfect. Mang Paul America, one of the resort owners in Talisayen Cove, warmly welcomed us. The package offered by Mang Paul at P1,800/pax is inclusive of accommodation (our very own kubo with three rooms), 4 superb meals and boat transfers. It was relatively convenient compared to Anawangin or Nagsasa's package inclusion.
Aside from lounging in the beach, we also trekked going to the waterfalls. Took us 15-30 minutes to reach it. Dippin’ in the ice-cold water after a tiring hike was heavenly. Ling even took the challenge of jumping off it! =)
Though we experienced light rainfall in the evening, the enjoyable company and the overnight chill vibe of the place made up for it. #tunamadness

Certified as a PADI rescue diver. Got my first compact camera in 2011. I was simply content then to just capture a glimpse of what I see during my dives. It was only last February 2014 that I fully maximized the use of manual macro settings.
My camera skills and knowledge are still a work in progress. Enjoy browsin’!
