Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte: 2015 Year-End Dive 1

As Ling and I were thinking of a 2015 year-end dive destination, Sogod Bay in Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte came on top of our list. It was a long overdue trip as our flight to Tacloban got cancelled in November 2013 due to typhoon Haiyan. No typhoon can stop us this time though and we were beyond excited to end the year in one of the Philippines’ unspoiled diving destination.

We stayed in Sogod Bay Scuba Resort and availed of their special diving package. The package cost of P21,000 includes a 3-night Ocean View cottage, a total of 12 dives and breakfast for 2 pax.

Did 6 dives---two of which were spent in Napantao North and South dive sites, the oldest marine sanctuary in Sogod Bay. Was able to use my wide-angle fisheye lens! Ling and I were both satisfied with the wide-angle camera setting I used during the dives. Napantao’s amazing reef was just the perfect subject. So happy to see a white tip reef shark inside its cave!
