Mactan, Cebu: Macro Paradise

Ling and I spent the start of 2018 ber months with a festive dive underwater. After booking flights via the BDO Travel Sale last June 2018, we booked our fourth dive trip this year with Paraiso Com Dream, a resort managed by the world-renowned marine biologist and underwater photographer Yoshi Hirata.

We were back in Mactan, Cebu by early September 2018 after our first visit March of the same year. Our macro wishes were easily granted by P-Com Dream’s dive masters Tomo, Romeo and Lisa. The string of early Christmas presents were endless. We saw a coconut octopus at home inside a shell, various file fishes, shrimps, nudibranchs, a pipefish and a yellow goby. And did I mention seeing not just one but two harlequin shrimps?! The unique kind of Siphopteron species that Ling spotted was another bonus.

It’s really hard not to fall in love with Mactan’s macro offering. There’s no doubt Ling and I will be coming back again and again.
